One June our heart was beating
when a screen, a voice, a page
changed our Pulse from pride to grief
changed our dreams to rage
God, I couldn’t take the bleeding
that was laid out like a play
And I couldn’t take needing
to understand, to disengage
The prayer, please let me wake
Eloi, please let this fade
They have built us into judge and jury
turned back against our self
They have taken all the fury
from the people that THEY shelved
Then they built around us boxes
so we couldn’t see there weren’t lines
And they’ll build around us coffins
if we let them have the time
And they won’t even have to kill us
with this nightmare game they’ve made
because they built us executioners
out of flesh and blood and hate
They can sit out in the bleachers
You know they wouldn’t miss the show
But they don’t have to play the game now
We make the final blow
The only waking up now, is waking to the fact
that 49 are gone, and there is no going back
All we have is forward, and we have to pick the track
Pick a plan, pick a route, pick our method of attack
To somehow stop the bleeding, but more to stop the cuts
because I’m awful tired of dying
and I’m awful tired of blood
